In essence, we are all creative and expressive people.
A part of what it means to be human is to be creative. It is a fundamental capability; it allows us to:
imagine how life could be like and make confident strides towards new possibilities
combine two ideas and make new inventions come to life
fully-experience pleasure and the beauty of the present moment, whatever that is.
It is also a basic human need to be fully self-expressed; we all desire to say 'this is me and this is my contribution'.
Without these two skills a fully-experienced life is more difficult to achieve. Without honing our capabilities in these two areas we can miss opportunities, dig ourselves into ruts and dead-end routines, and squander the talents that make each of us unique.
That is not to say that we should all be painters, writers or poets, rather that thinking in different ways brings different results and unexpected benefits. In our hearts, we can experience as much pleasure from a rose garden we have created as from the grounds of the Taj Mahal.
We are all born creative but sometimes along the road we loose our path. We forget how to be creative and we forget why it is important to have full self-expression. Let’s change that.
